Membership in the Consortium
Members, nominated by colleagues, take on defined roles that support M+Visión goals. Individual members—Faculty and Fellows—and organizational Sponsors, Associate Partners and Partners, will build knowledge, research and development capacity in Madrid together. Members are invited to programs, workshops, meetings, and conferences in Madrid and Boston, and will receive reports on the research activities of members and M+Visión Fellows. Because the Consortium is new and will be as strong as its Consortium members, we will actively seek the advice of our members to help shape our community and guide our work.
Members are active in the field of biomedical imaging with a strong interest in the promotion of innovation, in learning, and in contributing to building capacity in training, research and development in the community of Madrid. As members, individuals and organizations will have opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration, and privileged access to information about the Consortium’s research. M+Visión is a new initiative in the process of building a formal membership organization. Thus, this is an opportune time for M+Visión Consortium members to help guide us to the future and help shape M+Visión objectives when experiences from the Fellowship program and emerging collaborations with Partners indicate new areas of strength or opportunity.
Faculty are individuals committed to helping build the Consortium, through one or more of many possible roles that engage them in the selection and training of M+Visión Fellows; selection and support of translational research projects; and the operation and growth of the Consortium. A faculty member may be a research scientist or engineer, an entrepreneur, a business development executive in the private or public sector, or member of the teaching faculty of a university. More +
Fellows are engineers, physicians, scientists and entrepreneurs committed to translating imaging discoveries in to high impact innovations. Ten Fellows are named each year after a global call for applications and a competitive selection process. Supported by a generous stipend, the Fellows work in host labs both in Madrid and Boston, and have access for mentoring and collaborative purposes to other individual and organizational members of the Consortium. Recruiting for the 2013 Fellowship will begin in the fall of 2012. More +
